Fast hardcore punk that thrashes right passed you in an instant, Crossed Out's self-titled EP is a small punk oddity that is well worth the short amount of time it takes to listen to. The sound of this EP is instantly captivating, with fast-paced sounds and a heavy energy that feels like an incredible introduction to the powerviolence genre.

It manages to get ideas and sounds across excellently well in just under eight minutes of runtime, and the songs are short without being at all underdeveloped. The overall sound of this EP is immediately established and it continues to be well-established as the runtime continues. The structure of this EP is messy in the way that you would want a hardcore punk project to be, with enough grit and raw energy to loop around itself over and over again.

'Crossed Out' is the type of project to make your head spin on impact - and it does this well. There's a clear style that the band developed for themselves, and it'll leave you wanting more from the band in an instant. Their energy is absolutely infectious; and this is loud, gritty, no holds barred punk music that will make you want to step foot into a moshpit.

HIM: SLIPPERY WHEN DEAD

SCORE: 98/100 It's always interesting to see the early forms of songs by various bands, demos for huge tracks like 'Razorblade Kiss' and 'Join Me In Death' reside on the 'Slippery When Dead' demo collection, and HIM manages to make even the earliest, choppiest stages of their songs sound like pure, otherworldly bliss. The demo versions of the songs are drastically different from the album versions - making this an absolute must for any fans of HIM/fans of the main album ('Razorblade Romance). Each demo is just as gorgeously crafted as the main, polished tracks, and despite some poor audio quality due to the tracks being demos - 'Slippery When Dead' is just as good as their finished efforts in the end. 'Slippery When Dead' is both highly interesting and deeply entertaining. HIM: RAZORBLADE ROMANCE

SCORE: 100/100 HIM's second and most well known album manages to be both loving and melancholic all at the same time - with almost otherworldly qualities that you simply will not find from any other band, 'Razorblade Romance' is a passionate album that is full of feelings and heart within every track, it's a clearly fleshed out and worked on project that was polished until absolute perfection, and Ville Valo makes himself even more known as a stunning vocalist throughout the 42 minute runtime of the album.
