KMFDM: WWIII
SCORE: 98/100
KMFDM's 'WWIII' is another potent effort. It's a no-holds-barred energy fest that hits you instantaneously, letting the heavy guitars and experimental industrial sound doing all of the talking needed.
The vocals on 'WWIII' are a particularly enjoyable factor, with the blended performances coming together into one irresistible project that keeps the energy going almost nonstop. It's a striking display of what KMFDM is all about - and both fans of the band and new listeners surely won't be disappointed by this project.
'WWIII' is an infectiously enjoyable album. It's one that's hard to not adore, and it's immediately captivating with the raw energy and massive amount of power it holds. There's a huge consistency within this album while it experiments with new sounds that were not heard on the other projects of theirs that I have heard thus far.
There are some songs on this album that sound wildly unique for the standard that the band has set from what I have heard from them, and the experimentation and changes in their sound here are truthfully something worth marveling at.
With KMFDM it's near impossible to pick discography highlights - but this album is one of many massive achievements. It feels like a huge victorious lap that shows off what the band is capable of to an incredibly comprehensive extent, and they do everything more than just well.
It's hard to make an album over 50 minutes go by as fast as KMFDM manage to do constantly, and this album is yet another wonderful showcase of the sheer power they hold as a band. Each element comes together into a ravenously powerful album; each riff and hit of the drums leading into something huge, loud, and the best kind of abrasive possible.
