MILLIONAIRES: BLING BLING BLING!
SCORE: 67/100
Millionaires are trashy pop at its finest, and 'Bling Bling Bling!' is a very solid introduction to their sound for those who have not listened to them before. It isn't their strongest material by any means, but the songs are fun enough to keep this EP somewhat worthwhile. The overall quality and substance of the project aren't very high, but the sound keeps it fun and light - it's a project very clearly not meant to be taken seriously to any degree.
It's a solid EP full of party-pop, with the trashy turned up to 10. The electroclash production is fun and cheery, with the overall sound of the EP being very well established from the get-go. 'Hey Rich Boy' is the most worthwhile track out of the lot (and the most well known for a reason), with 'Alcohol' being a super close second (and being an almost more enjoyable track), but this project isn't their most enjoyable content-wise.
If you go into this knowing what you're in for it's a good time, but if you aren't a fan of the more homemade sounding elements of some scene essentials, this project won't be up your alley. It's an entertainingly bouncy project, and it's fun enough to keep its head up mostly high outside of some flaws in production and sound that could be touched up on more.
It's spunky and full of sleaze in the best ways, and it's clear that these girls have direction for how they want their sound to be. There's a clear sense of them knowing what they want (literally), and the substance of the EP is what you would expect for a project called 'Bling Bling Bling!'.
