NAILS: UNSILENT DEATH
SCORE: 95/100
Violent, unapologetic metal at its finest, from the guttural screams to the fast, heavy instrumentals, 'Unsilent Death' is an incredibly impressive debut that runs unfortunately short. The songs being as short as they are makes them that much more enjoyable, but there's a sense of wanting, almost needing more from this album due to how short its runtime is.
It's loud in all of the best ways, and it's clear that Nails came out swinging. For this to be their debut is impressive enough, but the sheer power that this album holds is that much more impressive. It absolutely leaves me wanting more from the band already, and the songs are all consistently incredible.
The album has a sound that continues very well, with a huge amount of consistency and raw energy that makes it more than worth the short 13 minutes it runs for, there's a huge sense of prowess in every element displayed throughout the album, and the drumming in particular makes this album as incredible as it is with the guitar following suit.
In just 10 tracks Nails made sure that they would become a name you won't forget, with some of the strongest extreme metal playing you'll come across with songs that are simply put - insanity. There's a jaw dropping level of musical prowess scattered throughout the entirety of this album, and any hard metal fans will be more than pleased with this album.
'Unsilent Death' is both incredible and deeply consistent, with all of the songs following a cohesive and similar style that makes the entire album flow incredibly well. It's truly something to marvel at, and the structure that is held by this album is more than just slightly impressive, it's wholeheartedly impressive to the highest degree.
