SLOAN: BETWEEN THE BRIDGES
The transitions and instrumentation on this album are some of the bands' best work, and the overall shift from song to song makes this an essential full listen from start to finish. The overall sound of the album is some of their most well-executed material in terms of style alone, and the drum work on this project is something that sticks out a large amount.
Sloan manages to be the closest thing to The Beatles since the band was in their prime, and this album feels like one of their most similar projects to the quartet. The overall structure of their album is a lot more enjoyable and interesting than some of their other albums, and the compositions throughout 'Between The Bridges' makes this the album I would recommend.
It has the consistency of their other work without the album feeling like a compilation of songs that sound almost too similar, instead there are the highs and lows that make this album as standout-ish as it is. It's a definite highlight for their lengthy discography, and it's without a doubt the album of theirs that feels the most like a "must" from what I have listened to thus far.
